Frequently Asked Questions

The Global Standard is an internationally recognized benchmark that defines the skills, knowledge, and behaviors required to excel in supply chain and logistics roles. Developed by the International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management (IFPSM), it ensures consistent, high-quality training across the globe.

As global supply chains grow more complex and interdependent, there’s an increasing need for professionalization and consistency in how talent is trained and developed. The Global Standard addresses this by setting out universal best practices and learning criteria that elevate the profession worldwide.

Backed by this standard, supply chain professionals gain deep functional expertise and a strategic understanding of what it takes to deliver results and lead in a dynamic global environment.

Independent auditors appointed by the Global Standard Board review and evaluate supply chain training programs based on strict global criteria. The audit covers program content, instructional quality, assessment rigor, and overall impact.

Organizations that meet the criteria receive Global Standard accreditation, allowing them to deliver certified learning and development programs that offer:

Comprehensive, advanced training for supply chain roles across planning, logistics, operations, and beyond

Tools and frameworks aligned to global best practices

Structured processes for course design, delivery, and evaluation

Programs developed by supply chain practitioners and academic experts

High-quality content designed to match university-level learning outcomes

Yes. While many programs are delivered at an enterprise level, individual supply chain professionals can also pursue certification.

To be eligible for programs such as CIPP and CIAPP, individuals must be working in a supply chain or logistics role. You can find application guidance and further details on our certification programs page.

Traditional training programs often focus too heavily on theory, overlooking the practical application needed in real-world supply chain environments.

Our programs are different. They’re built around real-life challenges, case studies, and role-specific simulations — designed to help learners put knowledge into practice from day one.

The Skill Dynamics/IFPSM certificate is more than a credential — it’s proof that professionals have developed deep expertise and the ability to apply it to complex, fast-changing supply chain challenges.

Organizations benefit by developing a pipeline of globally certified supply chain professionals who apply best practices, mitigate risks, and drive performance improvement.

Our enterprise learning model is designed to embed knowledge across teams and functions, creating a culture of continuous improvement. Accredited programs support:

Greater alignment across supply chain and operations functions

Faster implementation of process improvements

Enhanced risk management and resilience

Measurable ROI through improved performance metrics

Ultimately, enterprises gain a competitive advantage by equipping their teams with the skills needed to lead global supply chains with confidence.

Yes. All Skill Dynamics courses are valid for recertification across a range of global certifications and associations.

As an IFPSM-accredited provider, our supply chain and logistics programs contribute to continuing education hours and meet recertification standards for bodies such as ISM, CILT, and others. This gives learners a flexible path to maintain and expand their professional credentials.

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT UK) recognizes selected Skill Dynamics courses as eligible for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours.

To apply for CPD recognition, you’ll need to:

Complete an eligible training bundle

Contact our Support Team with a summary of your learning, time spent, and how you’ve applied it (e.g. via quizzes, reflection exercises, etc.)

Skill Dynamics will then work with CILT(UK) to confirm your CPD allocation

A certificate of CPD completion can be issued upon request. For further guidance, we recommend reviewing CILT(UK)’s CPD guidelines.
