Warehousing Training & Certification
Maximize ROI, improve customer service and optimize profits with our Warehouse courses. Master the best practices in warehouse operations from maximizing space, receiving goods, put-away, order picking and shipping, waste reduction and improving health and safety.
A warehouse is a significant investment for an organization and this set of courses examines the best way to keep your warehouse running smoothly, efficiently, and safely, maximizing customer experience whilst maintaining a healthy ROI.
We use Lean principles to explore how we can eliminate waste in warehouse operations whilst increasing value-add activities. We explore the value of standardization, visual controls and 5S, enabling repeatable, accurate warehouse transactions.
Fundamentals
Our ”Introduction to Warehousing” course takes you through the different types of warehouse, the reasons we need them and how warehousing affects profit.
Operations
We explore the different processes and activities that are a part of warehousing, including receiving and put-a-way, order picking, packing, loading, and shipping
Warehouse design
Our “Warehouse Design” course takes you through the key principles of designing an efficient warehouse. You will learn how to determine the size your warehouse needs to be, where to locate your warehouse, planning the layout and space.
Eliminating waste
We explore how to reduce wasteful activities by learning and understanding the Lean methodology and it’s five core principles. We learn about the eight different types of waste and the importance of controlling overburden and unevenness.
We further explore warehousing and the value stream and how to use value stream maps to identify sources of waste, and as an ongoing tool for continuous improvement and standardization.
Lean concepts
Our deep dive into Lean explores concepts such as 5S, continuous improvement, Kaizen, PDCA, Lean culture: respect for people, empowerment, cross-training and Gemba Walks.
Avoiding mistakes
In our “Importance of Warehouse Operations” course, we learn how seemingly minor errors made in the warehouse can have a big impact both on customer satisfaction and the profitability of a company.
Warehouse safety
This important course identifies all the important health and safety risks in warehouses, and more importantly, how to prevent them. Written with warehouse workers, supervisors and managers in mind, this course explores the everyday practical steps workers can take to prevent accidents.
Topics covered include health and safety on docks, forklifts, conveyors, storage, ergonomics (e.g., moving your feet when turning while carrying a heavy box, not putting heavy boxes on high shelves, etc.), to recharging stations, chemical spills, and accident prevention.
Guidance is based on OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration in the United States) standards and EU-OSHA (the EU equivalent).
